Dismantling and Installing Office Chairs
Admin October 14, 2026
It is generally recommended to assemble office chairs from the bottom up. Although there may be slight differences in the installation steps for different models, the overall process is similar. Here is a detailed introduction:

General Installation Steps
- Install the Chair Base and Casters: First, attach each caster to the chair base one by one, ensuring that each caster is securely installed. After installing the chair base, insert the gas lift vertically into the center of the chair base. This is the key component that allows the office chair to be raised and lowered, so it must be placed vertically to ensure stability and safety during subsequent use.
- Secure the Seat Plate and Seat: Use screws to fix the seat plate to the seat. Make sure the screws are tightened to prevent loosening during use, which could affect the user experience and safety.
- Connect the Backrest and Seat: After the seat is installed, connect the backrest to the seat. At this point, the upper part of the chair is basically formed. Then, insert the base vertically onto the gas lift, ensuring a tight connection.
- Install the Armrests and Headrest: Finally, install the armrests and headrest. Depending on the design, specific screws and tools may be required for fixation.
Installation Tips for Special Models
- 8026s Model Computer Chair: Use medium-length 630 screws to lock the connection between the backrest and armrests. Align the screws with the holes without tightening them completely. Place the unpacked box underneath for easier installation. When installing the armrests and seat cushion, align the holes and tighten the 630 screws, but do not fully tighten the first screw until all are aligned. For the footrest installation, place the side with the downward-facing surface down, align the four screws with the holes, and tighten them halfway. Lay the frame flat, align the four corners with the ground, and ensure they are firmly attached vertically. Then, tighten the corresponding screws to ensure the footrest is level after installation. Place the assembled footrest on the table, distinguishing between the front and back. First, insert the screws into the corresponding holes without tightening them completely, and then tighten them step by step after alignment. For chairs with a headrest, there are two holes at the back of the headrest. Use 630 screws to find the corresponding holes and tighten them. The crossbar and footrest use the shortest screws, and some steps require 618 screws.
- 901 Model Office Chair: After receiving the goods, check the items (one backrest, one headrest, a pair of armrests, one five-star base, decorative covers only available for steel bases, 7 thick screws, 6 short screws (thin screws), and 5 wheels) before starting the installation. Begin by installing the five-star base.
Other Considerations
When assembling some office chairs, after unpacking the chair, first place iron pellets in the holes of the two crossbeams, with the horizontal lines of the iron pellets facing the opposite exit. After placing the iron pellets, use long screws for installation.
