Disinfectable Office Chair

Admin October 19, 2026

Disinfectable office chairs require appropriate disinfection methods based on their materials, as detailed below:

Leather office chairs: It is not recommended to use alcohol (75% medical alcohol) to wipe and disinfect synthetic leather (such as West Leather and PU leather) office chairs, and frequent alcohol wiping should also be avoided for genuine leather chairs. Alcohol can damage the protective coating on the leather surface, leading to leather aging and peeling. For daily dust removal, gently wipe the surface with a clean, slightly damp soft cotton cloth, and then dry it with a dry cloth. For ordinary stains, use a neutral leather cleaner specifically designed for leather. Test it in a hidden area first, and then wipe gently with a small amount. When disinfection is required, prioritize quaternary ammonium salt alcohol-free disinfectants. Dilute them and gently wipe with a soft cloth, then dry with a dry cloth.

Office chairs of other materials: To deal with dirty office chairs, follow the process of 'cleaning - disinfection - residue removal'. First, remove visible contaminants. Use tissues or brushes to sweep away obvious dirt, debris, and other solid waste on the chair surface. Then, thoroughly wipe the contaminated surface with a wet cloth containing a cleaner. For key disinfection, choose a disinfectant solution containing 250mg/L of available chlorine or 75% medical alcohol. Spray or wipe to ensure coverage of all contaminated areas, and maintain the effect for 5 - 10 minutes. After the disinfection effect is complete, wipe off the residual disinfectant on the chair surface with a clean, wet cloth, and finally ensure the chair is completely dry before use. When dealing with stains on mesh materials, dilute a small amount of neutral cleaner and gently scrub with a soft cloth, avoiding excessive wetness. After disinfection by spraying disinfectant or alcohol, ensure it evaporates and dries. For the sponge part, wipe it with a wet cloth and a neutral cleaner, paying attention to controlling the moisture to prevent it from seeping into the interior and being difficult to dry.

Antibacterial office chairs: Some antibacterial office chairs are more suitable for disinfection requirements in terms of material selection. For example, the antibacterial office chairs from Guangdong Jingyi Furniture Co., Ltd. use fabrics that meet the JIS L 1902 antibacterial test, paired with 304 stainless steel frames, which are easy to disinfect and corrosion-resistant. The antibacterial office chairs from Chongqing Hongding Furniture Co., Ltd. use PVC fabrics that have passed national antibacterial product certification, paired with thickened 304 stainless steel frames, which are corrosion-resistant and easy to clean, meeting the high-frequency disinfection needs of medical institutions.
