Disassembly of Deli Office Chair
Admin October 22, 2026
The disassembly of a Deli office chair can be carried out by referring to the following steps:

I. Prepare Tools
Prepare basic tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, and rubber mallets in advance. If you encounter rusted screws or stuck components, you can additionally prepare rust removers or loosening agents to assist with the operation.
II. Separate the Seat and Backrest
- Observe the connection position between the lower part of the backrest and the seat, and locate the connecting screws (this step is not applicable for some integrated backrests).
- Use a screwdriver to unscrew the fixing screws and separate the backrest from the seat. Pay attention to the screw specifications during operation to avoid mixing them up, which could cause difficulties in subsequent installation.
III. Remove the Armrests
- The armrests are usually fixed to both sides of the seat with screws. Check the bottom or side of the armrests for any hidden screws.
- Use a screwdriver of the corresponding model to unscrew all the fixing screws and gently lift the armrests to detach them from the seat. If the armrests are tightly connected to the seat, you can slightly shake them to assist with the removal.
IV. Separate the Gas Lift and Base
- Completely invert the chair to expose the connection between the gas lift and the base.
- For spring-clip-fixed types: Use a wrench or needle-nose pliers to loosen the spring clip and pull the gas lift straight up.
- For screw-fixed types: Unscrew the connecting screws and then separate the gas lift.
- Special handling for hydraulic lift rods: If the gas lift cannot be pulled out directly, invert the chair and place it upside down. Use a rubber mallet to evenly tap around the bottom steel ring of the gas lift, and then try to pry it. If it still doesn't work, repeat the tapping and prying actions.
V. Remove the Casters
- The casters are generally directly inserted into the caster sockets of the base. You can hold the casters with both hands and pull them out forcefully.
- If the casters are stuck, insert a screwdriver into the gap between the casters and the caster sockets, and gently pry the edges to loosen them before pulling them out.
- When encountering rusted screws, spray rust remover and wait for 5-10 minutes before using tools to disassemble them.
VI. Remove Other Components
- Base Tray: If you need to remove the base tray, wear protective gloves and continuously tap the edges of the tray with a hammer multiple times to loosen it.
- Rusted Brackets: For severely rusted metal brackets, first spray loosening agent and let it penetrate for 10-15 minutes, and then use tools to tap or pry them.
Precautions
- Avoid using excessive force during disassembly to prevent deformation or breakage of parts.
- Store the removed screws and parts in categories. It is recommended to use containers to package them separately and label their positions.
- Wear gloves during operation to prevent scratches or injuries from hammering.
