Delhi Office Chair Assembly
Admin October 09, 2026
The assembly steps for the Delhi (Deli) 4901S office chair are as follows:

I. Pre-assembly Preparation
- Check Components: Ensure that all components are present, including the five-star base (chair legs), 5 casters (wheels), gas lift (pneumatic rod), seat (with pre-installed screw holes), backrest, armrests, screw pack (including M6ร25mm and M6ร30mm screws with washers), and installation tools (screwdrivers, Allen wrenches, etc.).
- Prepare Tools: Essential tools include a screwdriver (Phillips/flathead) or an electric screwdriver (low torque setting), and an Allen wrench; auxiliary tools such as a rubber mallet (for installing the gas lift) and a tape measure (for adjustments).
- Environment Requirements: Choose a well-lit, spacious, and flat area. Organize all items by category to prevent losing parts during assembly.
II. Detailed Assembly Steps
Install Chair Legs and Gas Lift
- Place the five-star base face up and align the metal rods of the 5 casters with the leg holes. Press down vertically until you hear a 'click' (thread-type casters need to be tightened clockwise).
- Lift the base slightly and shake it gently to check if the casters are secure.
- Insert the thicker end of the gas lift (with a hole) vertically into the center hole of the base and press down firmly until it is fully inserted at the bottom. If there is a plastic protective cap at the top, remove it in advance.
Install Armrests and Seat
- Flip the seat upside down and locate the pre-installed screw holes (usually 4).
- Align the armrest holes, press the armrests down into the slots, and secure them with 2 M6ร25mm screws; then use 4 M6ร30mm screws with washers to reinforce the other connection points between the armrests and the seat.
- Repeat the above steps to install the armrest on the other side, ensuring both sides are symmetrical.
Install Backrest
- Use 4 M6ร30mm screws with washers to secure the backrest to the corresponding holes on the back of the chair body, ensuring the screws are fully tightened and the washers are flat.
Final Assembly
- Align the assembled upper structure (seat, backrest, armrests) with the top of the gas lift, slowly lower it, and adjust the position to ensure a secure connection.
III. Precautions
- Follow the 'bottom-up' principle for assembly, completing the bottom structure (chair legs, gas lift) first before installing the upper parts.
- When tightening screws, it is recommended to use the 'diagonal tightening method' to avoid uneven local stress that could loosen the structure.
- If the gas lift is difficult to install, use a rubber mallet to tap gently for assistance, but control the force to prevent damage.
- After assembly, check that all connections are secure and that the casters rotate smoothly.
