Definition of Independent Office Chair
There is currently no clear and exclusive definition for independent office chairs. However, it can be inferred and understood from the basic concept of office chairs and the matching requirements of independent workstations.

From the narrow concept of office chairs, an office chair specifically refers to a chair with a backrest used by employees when working at a desk. Its core design purpose is to provide employees with comfortable sitting support, enabling them to work at a desk for long periods without feeling overly fatigued. Such chairs usually take ergonomic principles into account, selecting shapes and materials for the backrest and seat cushion that fit the human body's curves, dispersing body pressure, and reducing physical discomfort caused by prolonged sitting, such as soreness in the neck, waist, and buttocks.
If inferred from the perspective of matching independent workstations, an independent office chair may be a chair specifically configured for an independent workstation. An independent workstation is typically a relatively independent and private office space where employees need to focus more on completing their work tasks. Therefore, in addition to having the basic feature of a backrest like an ordinary office chair, an independent office chair places greater emphasis on personal comfort and functional adjustability. In terms of comfort, it may use higher-grade materials such as breathable mesh fabric and soft leather to enhance the tactile feel of the seat cushion and backrest, allowing employees to remain comfortable during long periods of sitting. In terms of functional adjustability, it may have more adjustable components. For example, the height and angle of the headrest can be adjusted to provide personalized adjustments according to the height and sitting habits of different employees, offering good support for the neck. The height, forward-backward position, and angle of the armrests can also be adjusted to meet different arm placement needs and reduce pressure on the arms and shoulders. The forward-backward position and depth of the seat cushion can be adjusted to meet the comfortable sitting positions of employees with different leg lengths. The tilt angle of the backrest can also be freely adjusted within a certain range, allowing employees to relax their bodies and relieve fatigue during work breaks.
However, it should be made clear that the above inferences about independent office chairs from the perspective of matching independent workstations are not authoritative definitions. Currently, there is no unified and exact standard to define independent office chairs.
