Disassembly of Delix Office Chair

Admin October 12, 2026

The disassembly steps for the Delix office chair are as follows:

1. Remove the Seat Cushion First, separate the seat cushion from the main structure of the office chair. The cushion is usually fixed to the chair base with clips or screws. If it's a clip structure, you can simply lift it upwards. If it's secured with screws, use a screwdriver of the corresponding size to turn the screws counterclockwise and remove them, then take off the cushion. After removing the cushion, the connection structure of the chair base will be fully exposed, facilitating subsequent operations.

2. Remove the Base The base is the core component that supports the chair legs and the gas lift. It is typically made of metal or high-strength plastic. Use a screwdriver to loosen the fixing screws (usually 4-6) around the edge of the base one by one, and keep the screws for subsequent installation. If the screws are rusty or too tight, you can spray a small amount of rust remover to assist in disassembly. After removing the base, the connection points between the chair legs and the gas lift will be clearly visible.

3. Remove the Chair Legs The connection between the chair legs and the gas lift can be either threaded or clip-fixed. If it's a threaded structure, turn the chair legs counterclockwise until they separate. If it's a clip structure, use a hammer or a hard object (such as a rubber block) to gently tap the connection between the chair legs and the gas lift, using the vibration to loosen the clips and then remove them. When operating, place a soft cloth under the chair legs to avoid direct tapping that may cause surface damage.

4. Remove the Gas Lift The gas lift is the key component for adjusting the height of the chair. To disassemble it, turn the chair upside down (with the wheels facing upwards). Use a rubber mallet to vertically tap the top of the gas lift (where it connects to the base). If the gas lift is too tight with the chair base, you can place a piece of wood at the tapping point to disperse the impact force. Do not use a metal hammer to tap directly, as this may damage the internal structure of the gas lift or pose an explosion risk.

5. Remove the Chair Back The chair back is usually connected to the seat with screws or clips. If it's fixed with screws, remove the fixing screws on the back of the seat. If it's a clip structure, use a flat-head screwdriver to insert into the gap of the clip and gently pry it open. When disassembling, be aware that there may be springs or metal brackets inside the chair back to avoid excessive force that may cause parts to eject and injure people.

6. Remove the Armrests and Headrest The disassembly sequence of the armrests and headrest is the reverse of the installation sequence. First, loosen the fixing screws (usually located at the connection between the armrests and the seat or at the bottom of the headrest bracket), and then lift or rotate the components upwards to remove them. If the armrests are adjustable, adjust them to the lowest position before disassembly.

Precautions:

  • Safety First: Wear protective gloves when using tools to avoid cuts. Control the force during tapping operations to prevent parts from flying off.
  • Be Patient: The gas lift and chair base of old chairs may be rusty due to long-term use. Apply force slowly during disassembly to avoid forced damage.
  • Keep Parts: All removed screws, clips, and other small components should be stored separately to prevent loss and affect subsequent installation.
  • Reassembly: If reassembly is required, it is recommended to follow the disassembly steps in reverse order and refer to the product manual to ensure proper alignment of components.
