Dawn Office Chair Recline
Admin October 11, 2026
Adjusting the recline of Dawn's high-end ergonomic office chair requires three steps, as follows:

I. Unlock the Recline Function
- Locate the Adjustment Handle: For most models, the adjustment mechanism is located on the right side of the seat (a few on the left), which may be a lever, knob, or pull rod.
- Release the Lock: Sit up straight and gently pull the handle. A 'click' sound indicates that the lock has been released. If the chair is equipped with an independent recline lock (such as some high-end models), you need to first pull up the locking switch under the seat before operating the handle.
II. Adjust the Recline Angle
Choose the corresponding method based on the type of adjustment system:
- Lever Adjustment System:
- Slowly lean back while continuously pulling the handle, and the backrest will gradually recline with the pressure.
- Release the handle when you reach a comfortable angle, and the backrest will automatically lock.
- Knob Adjustment System:
- Rotate the knob on the base (usually marked with arrow directions) to control the recline angle and tension.
- Clockwise Rotation: Increases the resistance of the backrest when reclining, suitable for heavier individuals; Counterclockwise Rotation: Reduces resistance, suitable for lighter individuals.
- Pneumatic Adjustment System:
- Gently push the seat towards the backrest when reclining to activate the cushioning function.
- High-end models support synchronized adjustment of the armrests, which need to be adjusted according to the instructions.
III. Return to Upright Position
Pull the handle or knob again, and the backrest will rebound to its initial position with the assistance of the pneumatic device. If the chair is equipped with a rebound force adjustment function, you can fine-tune the rebound speed with the knob on the base.
Precautions
- Adjust According to Body Weight: Choose the resistance level based on your body weight to avoid reclining too quickly due to insufficient resistance or difficulty in operation due to excessive resistance.
- Confirm the Lock Status: Some chairs support locking the recline angle. If you need free recline, push the control lever to the non-locking position; if you need a fixed angle, adjust it to the corresponding slot.
- Safe Usage Guidelines:
- Use your waist to naturally exert force when reclining, avoiding jumping or pressing hard on the backrest.
- For first-time use, it is recommended to test at a small angle of about 30ยฐ first and gradually find the best support angle.
- The recline limit of most ergonomic chairs is 120ยฐ-135ยฐ. Exceeding this limit may damage the pneumatic rod.
- Regular Maintenance and Inspection: Check the fixing screws on the base every three months for looseness, and replace the worn casters on the chair legs in a timely manner to ensure safe use.
