Cynara Office Chair
CYNARA is an ergonomic office chair launched by the Japanese office furniture brand OKAMURA. It was designed by Andreas Krob, a designer from the Swiss design studio b4K, and engineer Joachim Breaske, in collaboration with the OKAMURA development team. The design and development process took nearly three years, drawing inspiration from the curved shape of the Japanese bow 'Yumi'. It adopts a minimalist style, combining strength and flexibility.

Ergonomic Design: The bow-shaped backrest and seat integrated frame of CYNARA is a core design highlight. This structure supports proper sitting posture by simulating the natural curves of the human body, keeping the pelvis upright and the spine in an S-shape, thereby reducing fatigue from prolonged sitting. The seamless connection between the backrest and seat achieves a 3D enveloping effect, conforming to the body's contours and enhancing comfort, especially suitable for long hours of office work.
Lightweight and Environmentally Friendly: CYNARA weighs only 9.2 kilograms, thanks to its compact mechanism and slim design. This design not only facilitates easy movement and adjustment but also significantly reduces carbon emissions during manufacturing and delivery, meeting the high environmental standards of modern offices. Smart Tilt Mechanism: The 'Smart Ankle Tilt Mechanism' developed by Okamura is another major innovation of CYNARA. This mechanism automatically adjusts the tilt angle according to changes in the user's center of gravity without complex adjustments, helping users relax naturally and achieve a comfortable sitting experience. This design simplifies the operation process and enhances the user experience.
