Computer Office Chair Structure
Admin October 12, 2026
The structure of a computer office chair consists of multiple basic components and adjustment modules, working together to provide support, adjustability, and comfort. It can be divided into the following core parts:

1. Basic Support Structure
- Casters and Five-Star Base/Chair Legs: Casters (usually omnidirectional wheels) are mounted at the bottom of the five-star base or chair legs, enabling flexible movement. The chair legs are often made of nylon or aluminum alloy, meeting load-bearing and durability standards to ensure no deformation during long-term use.
- Gas Lift: As the core component for height adjustment, it utilizes the compressibility of gas. By manually or electrically changing the gas volume inside the cylinder, the seat height can be adjusted. Its safety performance must comply with international standards (such as BIFMA certification) to prevent explosion risks.
- Seat Base: Connects the gas lift to the seat cushion, bearing the weight of the human body and transmitting adjustment commands. Some seat bases integrate a tilt-lock function to fix the seat's recline angle.
2. Seat Cushion and Backrest System
- Seat Cushion: Filled with foam or memory foam inside, and covered with breathable mesh fabric or leather on the surface, providing comfortable support. Some high-end models adopt independent springs or zoned load-bearing designs to distribute pressure on the buttocks.
- Backrest: Usually equipped with an elastic support structure (such as springs or elastic fabric). Some models incorporate an adjustable lumbar support (such as the dual-axis four-way electric push-rod lumbar support of the Sihoo H300Pro), supporting fine adjustments up and down and front and back to fit the curve of the lower back.
- Headrest: Some office chairs are equipped with an adjustable headrest, supporting height and angle adjustments (such as a 4D adjustable headrest), suitable for users of different heights to relieve neck pressure.
3. Adjustment and Locking Components
- Slide Rail: A metal (such as steel) slide rail is installed under the seat cushion, enabling forward and backward sliding to meet different sitting posture needs. It must have high strength and wear resistance.
- Armrests: Provide arm support, with adjustable shapes, heights, and angles (such as 7D armrests supporting multi-dimensional adjustments), suitable for various scenarios like office work and rest.
- Locking Mechanism: Fixes adjustment components such as seat height and tilt angle through manual or automatic means to prevent accidental movement during use and ensure safety.
4. Additional Functions and Material Optimization
Some high-end office chairs further integrate electric adjustment systems (such as electric push-rod lumbar supports), breathable mesh fabric (to improve heat dissipation), or eco-friendly materials (such as recyclable aluminum alloy), balancing functionality and sustainability.
