Computer Office Chair Material

Admin October 12, 2026

The common materials for computer office chairs and executive chairs mainly include two categories: upholstery and structural components. Different materials have different characteristics and are suitable for different scenarios.

Upholstery Materials

  • Mesh Fabric: Mesh fabric is a relatively common upholstery material for computer office chairs. It has excellent breathability, allowing air to circulate freely between the chair surface and the human body, effectively reducing the feeling of stuffiness. Even after long hours of use, it can keep the body dry and comfortable, making it highly suitable for users who need to sit in office chairs for extended periods. The mesh fabrics used in executive chairs are more diverse, including high-quality mesh, tech mesh (such as NanoFlex4.0 tech mesh), which offers superior elasticity and durability; flocked mesh (such as Italian imported flocked mesh, dragon-pattern mesh), which has a softer and more skin-friendly touch; and DuPont Bounce tech mesh, which has good resilience and can better conform to the body's curves.
  • Leather: Leather is wear-resistant and easy to clean, with a smooth surface and a high-end texture, adding a touch of class to the office environment. Therefore, it is commonly used in executive chairs and some high-end computer office chairs. Leather can be divided into PU leather and genuine leather. PU leather is relatively affordable and has a similar appearance and texture to genuine leather; genuine leather is more durable and has relatively better breathability, but it is more expensive.
  • Velvet: Velvet is soft and comfortable, giving a warm feeling and creating a relatively soft office atmosphere. However, velvet tends to attract dust more easily and is slightly inconvenient to clean.

Structural Component Materials

The frames, bases, and chair legs of executive chairs often use metals (such as aluminum alloy) or high-strength engineering plastics. Aluminum alloy has the characteristics of high strength and light weight, not only providing stable support for the chair but also ensuring that the chair is relatively easy to move; high-strength engineering plastics have good toughness and impact resistance, able to withstand significant pressure and ensure the safety of users. The selection of these materials ensures the structural stability and safety of executive chairs, enabling them to meet the needs of long-term use.
