Computer Office Chair Fixation
The fixation methods for computer office chairs vary depending on their types and adjustment mechanisms. Common methods include backrest angle fixation, component installation fixation, and other functional fixations, as detailed below:

I. Backrest Angle Fixation
Backrest angle fixation is a core function for adjusting the tilt of the chair back. Common operating methods include:
- Knob-type: Locate a circular or oval knob on the right side beneath the seat. Rotating it clockwise increases the backrest resistance until the backrest angle is locked, while rotating it counterclockwise unlocks it for adjustment. This method achieves fixation through mechanical friction and is suitable for scenarios requiring precise control over tilt resistance.
- Lever-type: A plastic lever on the left or right side beneath the seat is pulled up to unlock it. After adjusting the angle, releasing the lever automatically locks it, with some models supporting stepless adjustment. Lever-type designs are easy to operate and commonly found in mid- to low-end office chairs. However, the locking mechanism may fail over time due to wear on the lever spring.
- Wrench-type: A wrench located beneath the seat near the back legs is used to unlock the backrest tilt byๆณๅจ (turning) it, and locking it back in place by resetting the wrench. Wrench-type structures are simple but require the wrench to be fully reset to ensure secure locking.
II. Component Installation Fixation
Component installation fixation involves assembling core components such as the backrest, gas lift, and footrest, and must strictly follow the product manual:
- Backrest and Seat Connection: Fixed with screws, for example, the TOAI E1 office chair uses three M8 screws to tighten the backrest, while the W803 hollow model uses four short screws to fix the armrests to the backrest. Screw fixation requires appropriate torque to avoid over-tightening causing thread stripping or under-tightening leading to wobbling.
- Gas Lift and Base Fixation: Align the gas lift with the base hole and insert it, for example, the TOAI E1 requires the gas lift to be placed in the middle hole before inserting it into the base, while the W803 hollow model requires aligning it with the tray hole to insert the gas rod. When installing the gas lift, check that the seal is intact to prevent air leakage and failure of the height adjustment function.
- Footrest Fixation: Insert it into the้ข็ๅญ (pre-drilled hole) beneath the seat, for example, the TOAI E1 requires ensuring the footrest fits perfectly into the hole to prevent it from detaching during use.
III. Other Functional Fixations
- Headrest Fixation: Insert it into the backrest mounting plate and adjust the angle, for example, the TOAI E1 is inserted directly into the backrest, while the W803 hollow model uses two short screws for fixation. The headrest height should be adjusted according to the user's neck curve to avoid excessive pressure on the cervical spine from being too high or too low.
- Lumbar Support Fixation: The lumbar support can be adjusted up and down by turning the wrench beside the tray, for example, the wrench on the right side of the W803 hollow model's tray. The lumbar support should conform to the curvature of the waist; excessive tightness may restrict waist movement, while excessive looseness may fail to provide effective support.
Precautions: It is recommended to read the product manual before operation to avoid damaging the structure due to misoperation; adjust the backrest tilt slowly to prevent losing balance and falling due to a shift in the center of gravity.
