Computer Chair Casters for Office Chairs

Admin October 09, 2026

If the casters of your computer chair are too slippery, you can solve the problem by replacing them with specific types of casters or installing fixed foot pads. Here are the specific solutions:

1. Replace with Lockable Casters
Choose casters with a diameter of 60 millimeters that feature a brake locking mechanism. The outer part of these casters is wrapped in soft PU material, which not only protects the floor but also allows for fixation by manually pulling down the locking device. These casters are usually sold in sets of five and can significantly enhance the stability of the chair after installation, making them particularly suitable for scenarios where frequent fixation of the chair's position is required.

2. Use Gravity Casters
Gravity casters also have a diameter of 60mm. Their core design involves sensing changes in gravity through an internal mechanical structure. When a person sits on the chair, the resistance to lateral movement of the casters increases significantly, maintaining mobility while preventing erratic sliding. Additionally, they operate with low noise, making them suitable for environments where quietness is highly required.

3. Install Fixed Foot Pads
For users such as the elderly or children who require complete fixation of the chair, the original casters can be directly removed and replaced with dedicated fixed foot pads. These foot pads increase the contact area and friction with the ground, keeping the chair completely stationary and effectively preventing safety hazards caused by accidental sliding.

4. Choose Bearings with Hollow Casters
The middle part of bearings with hollow casters features a hollow design with high-precision bearings inside. The overall weight is relatively large, and the texture is solid. The outer part is also wrapped in soft PU material, and locking can be achieved by pressing a side button. This design balances mobility and fixation needs, making it suitable for users with high stability requirements for their chairs.

5. Opt for Larger Casters
If the original chair is equipped with smaller casters (e.g., less than 50mm in diameter), they can be replaced with larger casters measuring 65mm in size. These larger casters usually come with side locking devices that can be fixed by pulling them horizontally. Larger casters have a larger contact area with the ground, dispersing pressure and enhancing grip, making them particularly suitable for soft surfaces like carpets.

Precautions: When replacing casters or foot pads, ensure that the new accessories match the interface specifications of the chair's five-star base. Clean the interface area before installation to prevent dust from affecting the fixation effect. For gravity casters, ensure that the internal mechanical structure is free from jamming; otherwise, it may affect the resistance adjustment function.
