Cleaning Office Chair Cushion
The method of cleaning office chair cushions varies depending on the type of cushion, mainly divided into two cases: detachable cushions and non-detachable cushions. Non-detachable cushions can be further subdivided into sponge cushions and mesh cushions.

Detachable Cushions
Cleaning detachable cushions is relatively simple. First, remove the cushion from the office chair. Then, prepare a basin of warm water, add an appropriate amount of detergent, and stir well. Soak the cushion in the water for a while. After soaking, manually scrub the surface of the cushion with a soft-bristled brush, paying attention to using moderate force to avoid damaging the cushion material. After scrubbing, rinse the cushion with clean water to ensure no detergent residue remains. Finally, place the cushion in a well-ventilated area to dry, avoiding direct sunlight to prevent fading or deformation.
Non-Detachable Cushions
- Sponge Cushions:
- Removing Surface Dust: If you have a vacuum cleaner at home, use it to suck away the dust attached to the sponge cushion. If you don't have a vacuum cleaner, you can manually pat the cushion gently with your hands or a hanger. If there is a lot of accumulated dust, it is recommended to wear a mask to prevent inhaling dust.
- Removing Stubborn Stains: After removing the surface dust, take a clean cloth, wet it with water, and wring it out until it no longer drips. Then, dip it in a small amount of dry cleaning solution or water-based cleaner and gently wipe the stained areas multiple times, being careful not to use too much force to avoid damaging the fabric surface. After that, rinse the cloth clean, wring out the water, and wipe twice more to remove any remaining cleaner. You can also use a sponge-specific cleaner, spray it point by point on the cushion, and then scrub and wipe it off with a brush point by point.
- Air Drying: After cleaning, air dry the cushion promptly to avoid mold growth due to dampness. You can place the cushion in a well-ventilated area, use an electric fan to blow on it, or use a hairdryer, but be careful not to set the hairdryer temperature too high. It should be noted that it is not recommended to clean the cushion with water, as non-detachable sponge cushions are difficult to dry.
- Mesh Cushions: Use a vacuum cleaner to fully suck away the dust, roughly absorbing dust particles. Dilute the cleaner or pour it into a watering can, and then spray the cleaner onto the office chair. Allow the cleaner to sit on the office chair for a while to separate the stains from the fibers. Use a sauna machine and a high-temperature cleaning machine alternately for at least two rounds of extraction. While cleaning the office chair, use a water extractor to suck up the washed office chair to speed up its drying.
