Fixed Office Chair Installation Guide

Admin October 10, 2026

The steps for assembling a fixed office chair typically include installing the chair wheels and gas lift, securing the base and seat cushion, connecting the backrest and seat cushion, installing the armrests, and fixing the headrest. Specific operations should be adjusted according to the model.

  1. Installing Chair Wheels and Gas Lift
Insert each chair wheel into the assembly holes of the five-star base, ensuring that each wheel is fully embedded and secure. After flipping the five-star base, place the thicker end of the gas lift vertically against the center hole of the base, ensuring a tight fit between the gas lift and the base. The gas lift is the core component for adjusting the seat height, so confirm that it is installed in the correct direction to avoid tilting or jamming during subsequent use.

  2. Securing the Base and Seat Cushion
Place the base on the bottom of the seat cushion, aligning the screw holes of both. Use the provided screws (e.g., four B screws) to insert them one by one, initially tightening each screw 3-4 turns, and then fully tightening them one by one to prevent the base from shifting due to unilateral force. The base usually includes adjustment mechanisms (e.g., tilt lock), so ensure that it is firmly connected to the seat cushion to avoid loosening during subsequent operations.

  3. Connecting the Backrest and Seat Cushion
Use screws (e.g., C screws and D screws) to secure the bottom of the backrest from the bottom of the armrest brackets, ensuring that the connection between the backrest and the seat cushion is aligned. Then, lock and secure the back of the backrest to the seat cushion brackets to form a stable triangular structure. Some models require the armrest brackets to serve as intermediate connectors, so confirm that the screw specifications (e.g., M8 screws) match the instructions to avoid structural instability due to mismatched models.

  4. Installing Armrests
Align the armrests with the holes on the armrest brackets and insert them. Some models require screws (e.g., M8 screws) to be fixed from the bottom or side. If the armrests are adjustable, test the adjustment function after installation to ensure that the armrests can smoothly rise, fall, or rotate. Avoid over-tightening the screws during installation to prevent damage to plastic components or affect adjustment flexibility.

  5. Fixing the Headrest
Insert the headrest into the reserved hole at the top of the backrest and tighten it with screws (e.g., E screws) through the fixing clips. The height and angle of the headrest are usually adjustable, so test the adjustment function after installation to ensure that the headrest can firmly support the neck. Some models of headrests can be directly inserted with clips without screw fixation, so operate according to the instructions.

Precautions: Different models of office chairs (e.g., TOAI E1) may use specific screw specifications or additional components (e.g., footrests). Before installation, carefully read the instructions to confirm the component list and tool requirements. If the screw holes do not align or the components are stuck, do not force assembly. Check for missing or incorrectly installed components and contact after-sales service if necessary.
