Car Seat Transformed into Office Chair
Car seats can indeed be modified into office chairs, and this trend has gained popularity, with both branded products and DIY modifications by netizens.
Branded Car Seat-Modified Office Chairs
Some automobile brands have launched office chairs modified from car seats. Taking Dongfeng Nissan as an example, its AI Zero-Pressure Cloud Blanket Office Chair inherits the ergonomic design and thick padding of Nissan car seats, providing users with a comfortable sitting experience. This office chair also supports 14 electric adjustments, allowing users to control it by scanning a QR code to enter a mini-program, offering convenient operation and rich functionality. Additionally, Dongfeng Nissan has also introduced the N7 office chair, which offers excellentๅ ่ฃนๆง (wrap-around comfort), giving users a unique feeling as if they are not working in an office but sitting in a car.
Netizens' DIY Modifications of Car Seats into Office Chairs
On platforms like Xianyu, the DIY modification of car seats into office chairs by netizens has become very popular. The key to modification lies in adding a suitable base beneath the car seat, commonly a wheel base or a wooden base, which provides the mobility and stability of an office chair. Some netizens with knowledge of circuitry further unleash their creativity, creating seats with adjustable angles and heating functions to meet the needs of different users.
Among them, the seats of Buick GL8 are particularly popular in the Xianyu modification community. The modified seats offer a price advantage, with a 150% month-on-month increase in search volume on Xianyu since December and a doubling of the number of buyers, even leading to stock shortages. Some users with larger body weights who have used seats removed from Buick GL8 as office chairs report that they are sturdier than general ergonomic chairs, providing stronger lumbar and back support, and giving a feeling of being hugged when sitting, offering better comfort and support.
