Classification of Brand Office Chairs

Admin October 11, 2026

Brand office chairs can generally be classified into five categories based on usage scenarios and structural design: ergonomic chairs, mesh office chairs, leather or fabric office chairs, multifunctional height-adjustable chairs, and folding chairs.

Ergonomic chairs represent a technologically advanced type among brand office chairs, with the core design philosophy of 'adapting to the human body'. Through adjustable modules such as seat height, armrest height and angle, backrest angle, and lumbar support, they can precisely match the physical characteristics (such as height, leg length, and spinal curvature) and sitting habits (such as leaning forward for work or leaning back for rest) of different users. This dynamic adaptability effectively disperses body pressure, particularly reducing the load on the lumbar and cervical spine, minimizing the risk of fatigue and injury caused by prolonged sitting, and is suitable for individuals who need to focus on work for extended periods or have spinal health needs.

Mesh office chairs use high-elasticity mesh fabric as the primary supporting material, with the advantage of breathability. The porous structure of the mesh fabric accelerates air circulation, preventing the buttocks and back from becoming hot and sweaty due to prolonged contact with non-breathable materials, especially in summer or poorly ventilated office environments, significantly enhancing comfort. Additionally, the elasticity of the mesh provides a moderate sense of enclosure, but with relatively weaker support, making it more suitable for users of moderate weight who seek a refreshing experience.

Leather or fabric office chairs are typically used in management offices or conference areas, with a design focus on aesthetic appeal. Leather materials (such as genuine or faux leather) convey a sense of professionalism and authority through their fine texture and luster, while fabric materials create a warm atmosphere with their soft touch and diverse colors. However, the breathability of these two types of materials is generally weak, and discomfort may occur due to sweat accumulation during summer use, making them more suitable for short-term use or in stable air-conditioned environments.

Multifunctional height-adjustable chairs have height adjustment as their core function, achieving vertical movement of the seat surface through gas springs or mechanical structures to fit different heights of office desks (such as standing desks or adjustable-height desks). Some models also integrate functions such as tilt locking and rotation to meet the needs of multi-scenario switching, especially suitable for open office spaces or users who need to frequently adjust their working posture.

Folding chairs have portability as their core advantage, with their legs or backrests designed to be foldable, resulting in a compact size after storage, facilitating easy transportation or temporary storage. These chairs are commonly found in scenarios requiring flexible adjustment of space layout, such as temporary meeting rooms, training classrooms, or shared office areas, but their comfort and support are generally weaker than those of fixed office chairs, making them more suitable for short-term use.
