Boss Office Chair Repair

Admin October 12, 2026

Boss office chair repair requires taking targeted measures based on the specific type of problem. Prioritize addressing damage that affects safe use (such as wheels and load-bearing components) before dealing with surface or functional issues.

1. Repair of Tilt Issues

Tilt issues are usually caused by damaged wheels or an uneven floor, so it is necessary to focus on checking the condition of the wheel feet:

  1. Check and Replace Wheel Feet: If the wheels are bent, broken, or stuck, replace the entire set of matching wheel feet (the sizes of wheel feet may vary for different models, so compatibility must be ensured).
  2. Remove Old Wheel Feet: Use a screwdriver to assist in prying at the connection between the wheel feet and the chair seat, or pull them out directly (some wheel feet need to be rotated for removal); if the connection is too tight, apply a small amount of lubricant (such as WD-40) to reduce friction and avoid damaging the chair seat by pulling too hard.
  3. Install New Wheel Feet: Align the new wheel feet with the sockets on the chair seat and gently tap them in completely with a rubber mallet (ensure that the wheel feet fit tightly against the chair seat); after installation, push the chair to test its stability. If it still tilts, check whether the floor is level or whether the wheel feet are installed properly.

2. Repair of Leather Damage

Leather damage requires the selection of special repair materials according to the material to avoid secondary damage caused by using ordinary glue or paint:

  1. Clean the Damaged Area: Use a multi-functional leather cleaner to remove stains and old repair marks (avoid using alcohol or highly corrosive cleaners to prevent the leather from hardening).
  2. Selection of Repair Materials:
    • For genuine leather office chairs: Use genuine leather repair paste (containing filler and colorant). Mix it according to the color of the leather, fill the damaged area, and after it dries, sand it smooth.
    • For artificial leather office chairs: You can choose artificial leather repair glue or patches. Fill the cracks and then fix them with a hot air gun (keep the temperature below 60ยฐC to prevent the leather from deforming).

3. Repair of Wooden Structures (such as armrests and chair legs)

If the chair has wooden components, refer to the repair techniques for wooden stools for repair methods, and pay attention to reinforcing load-bearing components:

  1. Crack Treatment:
    • Clean the dust inside the cracks, squeeze in woodworking glue (choose a variety with strong water resistance), and use clamps to fix the two sides of the cracks for 24 hours (ensure that the glue is completely cured).
    • If the cracks are deep or there is a high load-bearing requirement, you can make butterfly keys (mortise and tenon structure) and embed them on both sides of the cracks to enhance structural stability.
  2. Deformation Repair:
    • For deformed tenons (such as the connection between the armrest and the chair leg), first sand the deformed part, apply quick-drying glue, and then sprinkle sawdust to fill the gaps. After it dries, file it to the correct shape.
    • If the tenon is loose, you can drive in a wooden wedge again or use metal corner braces for reinforcement (when drilling holes, be careful to avoid the existing mortise and tenon structures).

Precautions: Before repair, identify the type of problem (structural/surface/functional). If it involves complex structures (such as damaged pneumatic rods) or high-value office chairs, it is recommended to contact professional repair personnel to avoid safety hazards caused by improper operation.
