Boss Office Chair Disassembly
Admin October 11, 2026
The disassembly of a boss office chair mainly consists of two parts: base disassembly and backrest disassembly. The specific steps are as follows:

Base Disassembly
- Prepare tools: Prepare wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers, and other tools in advance. Ensure that the tools are complete and suitable to facilitate the smooth progress of subsequent operations.
- Invert the chair: Invert the office chair steadily so that the base faces upwards. This allows you to see the connection between the base and the chair body more clearly, facilitating the disassembly operation.
- Remove screws: Use a box wrench or screwdriver to rotate the screws connecting the base and the chair body counterclockwise. If the screws are difficult to loosen due to long-term use or rust, gently tap the area around the screws with a rubber mallet to help loosen them.
- Remove other components: Carefully check if there are screws on the base that fix the seat cushion. If so, use a screwdriver to loosen and remove the cushion. Also, check the bottom of the base for fixed casters and other components. If present, use a screwdriver to loosen and remove them as well.
- Clean and store: After disassembly, clean the base to remove dust and stains. Sort and store the removed screws properly to avoid loss and facilitate subsequent installation.
Backrest Disassembly
- Preparation before disassembly: Prepare a Phillips screwdriver, a flat-head screwdriver (if there are hidden snaps), and gloves (to prevent scratches). Carefully observe the fixing method of the connection between the backrest and the seat to determine whether it is a snap connection or a screw connection.
- Snap-type backrest disassembly: Flip the chair and place it upside down on a soft surface, such as a carpet, to prevent scratches on the chair surface. Locate the plastic snaps on the sides or bottom of the backrest. Some snaps require pressing the white snaps on both sides to operate. Hold the snap with one hand and gently lift the backrest upwards with the other hand. A clicking sound indicates that the backrest is separated from the seat.
- Screw-fixed backrest disassembly: Locate the hidden screws at the bottom or side of the backrest. Some screws may be covered by decorative caps, which need to be removed first. Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen all the fixing screws one by one without completely removing them. Once the screws are loose, hold both sides of the backrest and lift it vertically to separate the backrest from the seat.
Precautions: If the snap-type backrest cannot be lifted, check again for hidden snaps. Do not use brute force to avoid damaging the snaps or the chair. Sort and store the removed screws to avoid loss. Keep children away during the disassembly process to prevent them from being injured by the parts. In addition, different types of office chairs may have different disassembly methods. It is best to refer to the chair's user manual or contact the manufacturer for accurate guidance before disassembly.
