Boss Chair Office Chair

Admin October 16, 2026

The boss chair is a type of computer chair, typically used by business managers in their offices, and some are also configured in home studies.

I. Basic Structure
The boss chair consists of eight basic components, including wheels, a five-star base, a gas lift, a chassis, etc. Among them, the gas lift is the core component, which adjusts the seat height by compressing gas. It is essential to choose products that have passed safety certifications (such as SGS and BIFMA) to avoid explosion risks. The chassis connects the gas lift to the seat and must have sufficient load-bearing capacity; the five-star base is usually made of metal to ensure stability; the wheels are mostly designed to be silent and suitable for carpets or hard floors.

II. Material Types

  1. Leather Models: Mainly made of PU leather or genuine leather, commonly found in executive chairs and mid-level chairs. PU leather offers good cost-effectiveness, while genuine leather appears more high-end but requires regular maintenance to prevent cracking.
  2. Mesh Models: Excellent breathability, suitable for summer or prolonged use, commonly found in junior chairs. The elasticity of the mesh should be moderate to avoid excessive sagging, which reduces support.

III. Functional Design

  1. Ergonomic Support: Focuses on meeting the support needs of the waist and head. Some high-end models are equipped with electric lumbar support modules that can adjust the distance to the waist, simulating a zero-gravity sitting experience; the lumbar support uses an independent support structure to precisely hold the lumbar spine; the height of the backrest and the position of the headrest can be freely adjusted to accommodate users of different heights.
  2. Reclining Design: Supports reclining from 135ยฐ to 160ยฐ, paired with a retractable footrest to meet the needs of office naps. It is important to pay attention to the stability of the reclining locking mechanism to avoid sudden rebound.
  3. Mobility: Equipped with 360ยฐ smooth-rolling wheels and a high-elastic gas lift that supports rapid height adjustment, facilitating flexible movement within the office area.

IV. Safety and Health Risks

  1. Gas Lift Quality: Poor-quality gas lifts may explode due to insufficient gas purity or poor sealing. It is necessary to choose gas lifts that have passed TUV certification, preferably Class III or IV.
  2. Harmful Substances: Some products may have excessive formaldehyde emissions, so it is important to check environmental protection test reports; non-compliance with flammability standards may increase fire risks and should meet the GB/T 10802-2006 standard.

V. Brand Selection
Brands such as Xiamu, Herman Miller, and Sihoo focus on ergonomic design and have products that have passed multiple safety certifications, but they are relatively expensive. For mid-to-low-end brands, it is important to carefully evaluate the materials and functions to avoid inferior products being passed off as high-quality ones.
