Big Office Chair

Admin October 08, 2026

The big office chair usually refers to the executive chair, a type of office chair in a broad sense, also known as the boss chair. It is mainly used in manager offices and senior executive offices in office buildings and is equipped with ergonomic design and multiple adjustment functions. The following is an introduction from aspects such as features, composition, functions, usage and maintenance, and safety hazards:

Fabric and Features: Executive chairs come in a variety of fabrics, commonly including leather, artificial leather (PU leather), linen, velvet, or mesh. These fabrics are highly breathable and resilient. The design fully considers the human sitting posture, conforming to ergonomic principles, and providing a comfortable sitting experience for users.

Common Components: It includes casters, a five-star base, a gas lift, a seat plate, a seat cushion, armrests, a backrest, and a headrest. The seat cushion is composed of a wooden board, sponge, and fabric; the backrest may use a steel frame or plastic frame combined with mesh; the seat plate is mostly made of metal with a mechanical explosion-proof mechanism; the armrests may have 3D lifting and rotation functions; the gas lift is used to adjust the height with a stroke of up to 80mm; the chair casters are mostly made of PA material and support omnidirectional rotation; the chair feet are made of nylon.

Functions: It usually has height and tilt adjustment functions. With the development of the industry, products are increasingly focusing on ergonomic design and evolving towards intelligence. Some products integrate intelligent monitoring and automatic adjustment functions to better meet the needs of users.

Usage and Maintenance: In terms of usage, the pneumatic height adjustment function is commonly used. When adjusting, the action should be smooth, and the chair should be adjusted to a suitable height where the feet are flat on the ground and the thighs are parallel to the ground. Regularly check the adjustment components and avoid overloading. Cleaning and maintenance should be carried out differently according to the fabric and components. For example, wipe a leather executive chair with a clean soft cloth, and use a neutral detergent diluted with warm water for long-term stains; for a fabric executive chair, pat off dry stains or use a vacuum cleaner to clean them. For spilled drinks or fruit juices, first absorb the water with a paper towel and then wipe; regularly clean metal fittings with an oiled cloth and a mild detergent; regularly clean the hair and fibers on the casters. For daily maintenance, lift and place the chair gently during handling, avoid prolonged direct sunlight, keep the center of gravity in the middle of the gas lift during use, strictly prohibit sitting on the armrests or placing overweight objects, and check whether the screws, springs, and knobs are loose after long-term use.

Safety Hazards: From 2023 to 2025, some office chairs made in China were recalled overseas due to safety hazards. For example, on March 2, 2023, the United States and Canada recalled office chairs made in China due to the risk of the backrest breaking and causing falls; on January 16, 2025, the United States recalled WorkPro Momentum office chairs made in China due to the risk of bolt failure and falls.
