Beijing Office Chair Testing
Admin October 14, 2026
When conducting office chair testing in Beijing, the most reliable option is to contact the Beijing Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Institute. Alternatively, you can choose qualified third-party technical institutes in areas like Haidian District.

Selection of Testing Institutions:
- Beijing Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Institute: This institute has established the National Furniture and Indoor Environmental Quality Supervision and Inspection Center. Its testing results are authoritative and reliable, capable of issuing legally valid reports suitable for government inspections or formal bidding scenarios.
- Third-Party Technical Institutes: Some third-party technical institutes in Haidian District and other areas also undertake office chair testing services. Their services may be more flexible, supporting on-site sample collection. However, when selecting, it is essential to verify whether they possess CMA or CNAS qualifications and confirm whether their issued reports are recognized by clients or regulatory authorities to ensure the validity and legality of the testing results.
Testing Content:
- Safety and Environmental Performance: Focus on testing formaldehyde emission levels, flame retardancy, and the toxicity of surface coatings to ensure that office chairs do not pose health or environmental hazards during use.
- Mechanical Durability Performance: Includes tests on seat surface flipping durability, backrest strength, armrest strength, caster lifespan, and repeated impact tests to evaluate the durability and stability of office chairs, ensuring they meet long-term usage requirements.
- Dimensions and Appearance: Check whether the main dimensions comply with design requirements and whether there are any defects such as color fading or scratches on the appearance, ensuring the overall quality and coordination of the office chairs.
Sample Submission Process:
- First, contact the testing institution by phone or online, specifying the chair material and testing purpose. The institution will provide a quote based on the complexity of the project.
- Support for mailing samples or on-site sample collection is available. After signing the contract, the laboratory begins the experiments, with results typically available within 3-15 working days. Urgent orders can be negotiated for expedited processing.
- After testing is completed, a testing report is issued. Some institutions offer after-sales services, allowing you to consult engineers if you have any questions about the results.
Testing Standards: Some standards, such as QB/T 2280, are commonly used as references for office chair testing. However, the latest standards should be used for specific testing to ensure the accuracy and compliance of the testing results.
