Backrest Seat Office Chair

Admin October 11, 2026

Backrest seat office chairs come in various types, each with distinct features, and there are some quality issues that warrant attention.

I. Common Types and Features

  1. Herman Miller (HERMAN MILLER) Sayl Classic Black Ergonomic Chair: This chair is relatively small in size and can accommodate individuals as short as 1.55 meters, making it friendly for those with petite builds. Its backrest supports forward tilting and features an integrated single-back design, which provides a good sense of wrapping around the lower back and offers relatively comfortable support. The backrest material is soft plastic, providing a relatively comfortable touch.
  2. Ergonomic Office Chair: It has a full-posture synchronous gliding linkage function, meaning that during use, all parts of the chair can work in harmony to adapt to different sitting postures. The intelligent lumbar tracking system can automatically adjust support according to the user's lumbar position, providing more tailored lumbar support. The one-rod three-segment linkage structure is easy to operate and enables multiple adjustment functions. It is suitable for people with heights ranging from 150 to 190 cm, offering a wide range of applicability. It comes with a three-speed air-suction cockpit, which effectively improves the issue of stuffiness during prolonged sitting in summer and reduces the likelihood of sweating and sticking to the legs.
  3. Yoasion M60 Second-Generation Large Dual-Back Computer Chair: Also falling under the category of ergonomic chairs, the large dual-back design may provide more comprehensive support for the back, dispersing back pressure and enhancing comfort during use.

II. Quality Issues Office chairs, in a broad sense, refer to all chairs used in offices, including executive chairs and staff chairs. However, there are some quality issues. On March 2, 2023, the United States and Canada initiated a recall of office chairs made in China due to the risk of the backrest breaking, which could lead to falls. On September 30, 2024, the State Administration for Market Regulation's national supervision and inspection of office chairs found that 15 batches of products were unqualified, with stability issues being particularly prominent. On January 16, 2025, the United States initiated a recall of WorkPro Momentum office chairs made in China because the bolts might fail, posing a risk of falling. These quality issues remind consumers to pay attention to the quality and safety of products when purchasing office chairs.
