Back Adjustment Office Chair
The methods for adjusting the back of an office chair mainly include basic recline angle adjustment, backrest tension/tightness adjustment, multi-stage locking and special function adjustment, and some chairs also support backrest height adjustment. The specific operations are as follows:

1. Basic Recline Angle Adjustment
This is the most common adjustment method, suitable for most office chairs. The adjustment handle is usually located on the right side of the chair, beneath the seat cushion, or on the side of the armrest, and is mostly in a rectangular or circular shape. When operating, pull the handle outward or lift it upward, and the backrest will enter a free recline state. At this point, you can adjust the recline angle according to your needs. After adjusting to a comfortable position, release the handle, and the backrest will automatically lock. Note that you should ensure your body is sitting upright before adjusting to avoid angle deviation due to uneven force. If the backrest cannot be locked after releasing the handle, it may be because the handle is not fully reset or there is a fault in the internal locking mechanism. Check the handle position or contact after-sales service.
2. Backrest Tension/Tightness Adjustment
This function is used to adjust the resistance when the backrest reclines to accommodate users of different weights. The adjustment knob is usually located at the bottom of the chair (near the gas lift) or on the side, and is circular or cross-shaped. Rotating the knob clockwise increases the recline resistance, suitable for heavier users to prevent rapid reclining; rotating it counterclockwise decreases the resistance, making it easier for lighter users to recline. When adjusting, rotate slowly and test the resistance after each 1/4 turn to avoid over-adjustment, which may cause the backrest to be unable to recline or have too little resistance. If the knob cannot be turned, it may be because the internal gears are stuck and need lubrication or part replacement.
3. Multi-Stage Locking and Special Function Adjustment
Some high-end office chairs support multi-angle locking. When reclining to preset positions (such as 90ยฐ, 105ยฐ, 120ยฐ), there will be a noticeable click, and releasing the hand will fix the position, suitable for scenarios where a fixed recline angle is required (such as reading or resting). In addition, some chairs can adjust the height by pulling the backrest upward (after releasing the locking device first) to fit different heights. When operating, ensure that the locking device is fully released to avoid damaging the components by forced pulling. If the locking function fails, it may be due to aging of the internal spring or wear of the catch, and the corresponding parts need to be replaced.
4. Backrest Height Adjustment (Some Ergonomic Chairs)
Ergonomic chairs such as the Quanpinwu computer chair support backrest height adjustment to fit the lumbar and back support needs of users of different heights. The adjustment lever is usually located at the back or side of the backrest. After pulling it up, the backrest can be moved up and down. Release it after adjusting to a position where both the lumbar and back are fully supported. When adjusting, maintain an upright sitting posture to avoid ineffective support due to backrest deviation. If the adjustment lever cannot be pulled, it may be because the internal slide rail is stuck and needs cleaning or lubrication.
