Assembly of Office Chair

Admin October 08, 2026

The steps for assembling an office chair are as follows:

First, install the wheels. Insert each of the five wheels that come with the office chair into the wheel holes on the base, ensuring that each wheel is securely seated to prevent loosening or detachment during subsequent use. Wheel installation is a fundamental step that provides mobility to the chair, so carefully check the installation status of each wheel.

Next, insert the gas lift. Vertically insert the gas lift into the central hole of the base, ensuring a tight connection between the gas lift and the base. The gas lift is a crucial component for adjusting the chair's height, so pay attention to its orientation during installation to avoid tilting or incomplete insertion, which could affect the chair's lifting function.

Then, secure the base to the seat plate. Place the base on the bottom of the seat plate and use four long screws to fasten them together. Ensure that the screws are tightened to prevent any looseness or wobbling between the base and the seat plate, which could affect the chair's stability. Tighten the screws in a diagonal sequence to ensure even force distribution.

After that, connect the backrest to the seat. Attach the backrest to the seat plate using connecting brackets and secure them with screws. Pay attention to the position of the brackets and the tightness of the screws to ensure that the angle between the backrest and the seat plate meets the design requirements and to prevent wobbling of the backrest due to loose screws. After installation, gently shake the backrest to check for a secure connection.

Additional steps for some office chairs:
Some office chairs may require the following additional steps during assembly:

  1. Install the armrests: Use No. 3 screws to secure the armrests to the frame, ensuring that the armrests are parallel to the seat plate and stable. Pay attention to the tightening force of the screws during installation to avoid deformation of the frame due to over-tightening or wobbling of the armrests due to under-tightening.
  2. Tap the caps: Some office chairs come with caps on the base or the top of the gas lift. Use a small hammer to gently tap these caps to ensure they are fully seated, maintaining a neat appearance and preventing the caps from falling off.

Precautions:
Use the appropriate tools provided during assembly, such as screwdrivers and small hammers, to avoid damaging the parts with unsuitable tools. After installation, thoroughly check the connections of all parts to ensure that the chair is safe and reliable during use.
