Alliance Office Chair CE Certification
For Alliance office chairs to circulate in the EU market, they must comply with CE certification requirements and undergo conformity assessment based on the harmonized standard EN 1335 series. The EN 1335 standard, developed by the European Committee for Standardization, sets out specific technical specifications for the mechanical safety, stability, and durability of office chairs. The detailed requirements are as follows:

1. Structural Safety
The load-bearing components of office chairs must pass static and dynamic load tests. For example, the seat must withstand a static pressure of at least 1100N without permanent deformation or breakage. Additionally, they must pass static and dynamic tipping stability tests to ensure they do not tip over during normal use or accidental collisions. All exposed parts must be free of accessible sharp edges, corners, or protrusions to prevent user injuries.
2. Ergonomic Fit
Seat dimensions must conform to ergonomic standards for adult sitting postures. For instance, the seat depth should range between 380-480mm, and the seat height should be adjustable to cover a range of 400-530mm. Seat cushion and backrest materials must possess appropriate elasticity and breathability, such as high-density foam or breathable mesh, to reduce fatigue from prolonged use. Furthermore, the backrest must provide lumbar support and have an adjustable tilt angle.
3. Durability and Component Testing
Office chairs must pass cyclic durability tests. For example, the seat must complete at least 100,000 load-unload cycles, and the casters must pass wear resistance and steering flexibility tests to ensure stability during frequent movement. The gas lift (height adjustment column) must pass durability tests, such as 50,000 consecutive height adjustments without air leakage or jamming.
4. Labeling and Compliance Requirements
Products must be clearly labeled with manufacturer information, product model, production date, and batch number. Additionally, they must display the EN 1335 compliance mark and the EU CE certification mark, indicating compliance with relevant safety, health, and environmental requirements. If the product is suitable for specific scenarios (such as anti-static environments), additional certification information must also be labeled.
5. Restrictions on Hazardous Substances
Office chairs must comply with the EU REACH regulation, restricting the use of hazardous substances such as lead, cadmium, and mercury. For example, the hexavalent chromium content in plastic parts must not exceed 1000mg/kg, and textiles must comply with azo dye restrictions to reduce impacts on user health and the environment.
