Adult Office Chair Pneumatic Pressure

Admin October 09, 2026

The following is information about the pneumatic pressure in adult office chairs:

Pneumatic Lifting Principle: The pneumatic lifting chairs in adult office chairs adjust the seat height through the movement of the piston rod inside the cylinder. The cylinder is usually filled with inert gases such as high-purity nitrogen. In legitimate products, the gas purity is typically above 99%, and the pressure is maintained at one to two atmospheres. This design allows the seat to be flexibly adjusted in height according to the user's needs, enhancing comfort.

Pneumatic Rod Safety Ratings: As the core component of pneumatic lifting chairs, pneumatic rods have clear safety ratings to accommodate different usage scenarios and load requirements. Rating I is suitable for light-duty office seats, home office chairs, and computer chairs, with a maximum load of 100 pounds (about 45 kilograms); Rating II is suitable for medium-density office seats, computer chairs, and conference room chairs, with a maximum load of 125 pounds (about 57 kilograms); Rating III is suitable for heavily used office seats, conference room chairs, and high-end computer chairs, with a maximum load of 200 pounds (about 91 kilograms); Rating IV is suitable for large seats used 24 hours a day, such as chairs in monitoring rooms and dispatch centers, with a maximum load of 325 pounds (about 148 kilograms); Rating V is suitable for high-intensity seats, such as truck drivers' seats, with a maximum load of 450 pounds (about 204 kilograms). When selecting a pneumatic rod, choose the appropriate safety rating based on the seat's usage scenario and expected load to ensure safety.

Safety Hazards and Prevention: Pneumatic rods have safety hazards mainly due to the use of low-quality rods, insufficient gas purity (generally, gas purity below 90% may pose safety risks), seal failure, and substandard container material strength. Under conditions of frequent lifting and high temperatures, the pressure inside the pneumatic rod may surge, posing an explosion risk. To prevent such risks, choose qualified products from legitimate manufacturers and avoid using low-quality pneumatic rods; at the same time, avoid exposing the seat to high temperatures for extended periods and avoid frequent excessive lifting of the seat.
