Adjustable Office Chair Production

Admin October 22, 2026

The production of adjustable office chairs requires selecting the appropriate method based on the type. Common types include pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical chairs, with core components such as seat plates, backrests, supports, and height-adjustment mechanisms. Below is the specific production process:

I. Pneumatic Adjustable Office Chair Production

  1. Base Assembly: Place the base upside down on a fixture, insert the casters into the legs, and use a pneumatic press to secure the casters to the base, ensuring a stable connection.
  2. Core Component Installation: Install the pneumatic cylinder that controls height adjustment, followed by the tilting mechanism. Use machinery to firmly attach the pneumatic cylinder and tilting mechanism to the base, forming the foundational structure for height adjustment and tilting functions.
  3. Armrest and Control Lever Installation: Fix the armrests to both sides of the tilting mechanism using bolts, thread the cables through the armrests from the pneumatic cylinder and tilting mechanism, and install the control lever in a convenient operating position to enable height and tilt adjustments.
  4. Upper Part Assembly: Install components such as the seat cushion, backrest, and three-dimensional armrests, securing them with screws or clips. Adjust the angles and heights according to ergonomic principles to ensure comfort and functionality.

II. Hydraulic Adjustable Office Chair Production
The production principle of hydraulic chairs is similar to that of pneumatic chairs, but the core component is a hydraulic cylinder that controls height through pressure. During assembly, pay attention to the sealing of the hydraulic system to prevent oil leaks that could cause height adjustment failure. The remaining steps, such as base, tilting mechanism, armrest, and upper part installation, are essentially the same as those for pneumatic chairs, but adjustments to the fixing methods and pressure parameters are required based on the characteristics of the hydraulic system.

III. Mechanical Adjustable Office Chair Production
Mechanical chairs typically use gear or screw structures for height adjustment and require the design of transmission and locking mechanisms. During assembly, ensure precise gear engagement or smooth screw rod sliding, and achieve height locking with springs or clips. These chairs have a relatively complex structure but offer high stability, making them suitable for scenarios with high durability requirements.

IV. Design Software-Assisted Production (Taking a Swivel Adjustable Chair as an Example)

  1. Component Modeling: Use design software to draw circular sketches and generate components such as seat cushion rings, backrests, waist guards, and hydraulic handles through operations like extrusion, sweeping, and patterning.
  2. Detail Optimization: Add non-slip protective pads to the chair legs, round off the edges of the entire chair to enhance safety, and set color and material parameters.
  3. Position Adjustment: Simulate usage scenarios through the software, adjust the positions and angles of each component to ensure they meet ergonomic and aesthetic requirements.

When producing, choose the type based on budget and needs. Pneumatic chairs are cost-effective and operate smoothly, hydraulic chairs have stronger load-bearing capacity, and mechanical chairs are suitable for special scenarios.
