Adjustable Office Chair Configuration

Admin October 10, 2026

The configuration of an adjustable office chair typically includes structural components, base, gas lift, seat cushion, backrest, armrests, and other auxiliary configurations, with each part designed with functionality and safety as the core.

1. Structural Composition
An adjustable office chair consists of five main parts: the base, gas lift, seat cushion, backrest, and armrests. These components work together to achieve functions such as height adjustment, support, and comfort. Some products optimize their structure through modular design, such as detachable armrests or adjustable backrests, to adapt to different usage scenarios.

2. Base
The base is the load-bearing core, typically made of cast iron. It disperses pressure through a five-claw or circular design to ensure stability. Some products can bear loads up to 150 kilograms. The chair legs often use metal materials like oval steel tubes, balancing strength and lightweight design. For example, high-end models may use thickened steel plates to reinforce the edges of the base, preventing deformation after long-term use.

3. Gas Lift
The gas lift is the key to the height adjustment function, achieving height changes through internal air pressure regulation. Safety certification is a core indicator, with Class 4 gas lifts having the highest safety factor. Some products are marked with certification logos such as SGS and TUV. To enhance safety, regular products install a burst-proof steel plate with a thickness of โ‰ฅ2mm between the gas lift and the seat to prevent rupture risks caused by abnormal air pressure.

4. Seat Cushion
The thickness of the seat cushion directly affects comfort. The common thickness is 5 centimeters, filled with sponge or memory foam to disperse pressure. Some products adopt a high-elasticity pressure-relief design, such as a 10.5cm thickened seat cushion, which conforms to the buttocks with a curved surface to reduce fatigue from prolonged sitting. In terms of materials, breathable mesh or leather surfaces can enhance the user experience.

5. Backrest
Backrests are divided into high and low types. High backrests can support the waist to the shoulders, suitable for long hours of office work. Some products introduce spine-supporting designs, such as the upgraded spine-supporting double backrest of the Jingdong Jingzao Z5 Pro, equipped with a 20ยฐ flexible rotating lumbar support and 3-level lumbar support modes to reduce lumbar pressure through dynamic adjustment.

6. Armrests
Armrests are mostly made of engineering plastics. Some products are equipped with adjustable functions (such as up-down, front-back, or rotation adjustments) to adapt to different sitting postures. Wide-surface armrest designs can expand the arm support area, allowing the arms to relax naturally and reducing shoulder and neck fatigue.

7. Other Configurations
Silent wheels are a common auxiliary function, reducing movement noise through special materials or structural designs. Some products are equipped with a 2D large-curved neck pillow, combined with a 140ยฐ large recline angle design, to meet the needs of office work and short breaks. Additionally, breathable back mesh or detachable fabric covers can enhance cleaning convenience.
