Adjustable Angle Office Chair
Adjusting the angle of an office chair requires scientific settings based on the needs of different body parts. Here are the specific operations:

1. Seat Height Adjustment
The seat height directly affects the force distribution between the legs and torso. When adjusting, ensure that both feet are completely flat on the ground, forming a 95-degree to 100-degree angle between the thighs and calves. This angle allows the body weight to be evenly distributed to the buttocks and legs, preventing blood circulation obstruction caused by foot suspension or excessive knee bending. If the chair height is not adjustable, a footrest can be used to assist in achieving the correct posture.
2. Seating Posture Angle Adjustment
To reduce lumbar spine pressure, it is recommended to adopt a slightly reclined seating posture, keeping the angle between the chair back and torso at 100 degrees to 110 degrees. The key point is that the back, especially the waist, should be fully in contact with the chair back, using the chair back's support to disperse spinal pressure. If the chair back's curvature does not match the human spine's curve, a lumbar support can be added or a chair designed according to ergonomic principles can be selected for improvement.
3. Reclining Angle Adjustment Methods
The reclining function should be operated according to the type of adjustment system:
- Lever Adjustment System: Locate the lever on the right or left side under the seat, release the reclining lock (if there is a locking function), slowly lean back the body and synchronously adjust the lever to make the chair back reach a comfortable angle. If a fixed position is needed, pull up or push the lever to lock it.
- Knob Adjustment System: Locate the knob in the center of the lower part of the seat, rotate it clockwise to increase the reclining resistance (suitable for heavier individuals) and counterclockwise to reduce the resistance (suitable for lighter individuals). Some chairs may require referring to the instruction manual to adjust the independent reclining angle knob.
- Pneumatic Adjustment System: Through the pneumatic device integrated with the height adjustment lever, gently push the lever to achieve smooth reclining. After adjusting to a comfortable angle, release the lever to fix it.
4. Other Key Angle Adjustments
- Thigh and Horizontal Plane Angle: Shorten the seat depth so that the thighs are fully supported, leaving a two-finger gap behind the knees. When reclining, slightly tilt the pelvis forward, keeping the thighs at a 95-degree angle to the horizontal plane, which can reduce lumbar spine pressure and relax the gluteus maximus.
- Arm Angle: Adjust the armrest height so that when the elbows are naturally hanging down, the forearms can be easily placed on the armrests or desktop, with the angle between the upper arms and forearms close to 100 degrees. This posture can avoid excessive tension in the shoulder and neck muscles and improve operational efficiency.
Precautions: After adjustment, maintain a straight head and level gaze, avoiding prolonged fixation in the same posture. If the chair has complex functions, it is recommended to refer to the product instruction manual or consult professionals first.
